At GeoScienceWorld (GSW), we have been thinking about how geoscience, and in particular the research we publish, can support United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To that end, we have undertaken a quantitative analysis of the impact and contribution of the publications on the GSW platform on the goals. You can read more about the project here. In addition, we have endorsed Geoscience in Action: Advancing Sustainable Development, a freely-available resource from UNESCO and AGU.
GSW will continue to engage global thought leaders in the geosciences to align and develop a comprehensive strategy for communicating the importance of geosciences, and illustrating how geoscientists can apply their talents and skills to solving the world’s environmental, social, and economic problems. 2023 eBook Collection
This year's collection features two new eBooks publishers, the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE), and the Mineralogical Association of Canada (MAC).
We are pleased to welcome Geoenergy and The Journal of Geology to our growing collection of journals. Geoenergy, a new co-owned journal of the Geological Society of London and the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE), launched in January. The Journal of Geology from the University of Chicago Press will be available In August.
Platform Enhancements
Our platform team is focused on improving the user experience and the accessibility of our content. New enhancements include:
A standard page view for books to improve accessibility on book content, in particular for keyboard navigation users who were previously unable to read that content type on the site.
Improved quick search functionality, which dramatically improves the search results for users particularly those searching on basic keywords.
New text colors on the toolbar to increase accessibility.
Revised process for creating KBART files to deliver to discovery services to improve discovery.

New Director of Marketing
Join us in welcoming Jessica Lawrence-Hurt to GSW. Jessica's marketing and business development expertise, as well as deep understanding of the scholarly publishing industry, make her a great fit for our team. While she got her start on the editorial side, she moved on to sales and marketing for a variety of mediums including books, journals, video, databases, reference, and textbooks. Most recently, Jessica served as the Chief Marketing Officer at Cadmore.
